Meet Brian Gerow

Where were you born/grew up?       

Methuen, MA

How did you get into the industry?    

I graduated from University of Tampa in 2011 and started working as a Management Trainee in the metal recycling industry.  After a year of that I decided to move back to MA where I began a 12 year career at Helfrich Brothers Boiler Works in the Power Generation

industry.  With a focus on manufacturing boiler parts and pressure vessels I had the opportunity to serve many roles including QC Manager, Operations Manager and Senior Project Manager. 

I often found myself buying pipe and fittings from Collins and Washburn during my years as Project Manager and always having a great customer experience.

What’s your favorite part of working in the PVF industry?  

My favorite part about working in PVF is providing critical parts and solutions for customers that are instrumental to our daily life.  The parts Collins supplies are crucial to keeping industries such as Power, Steam, Manufacturing and Pharmaceutical operating 24/7.

What passions do you pursue outside of work?    

I enjoy traveling and staying active by running and walking around Boston’s miles of harbor piers.  I also enjoy golfing and recently went on a trip to Missouri with my father who completed his goal of golfing in all 50 states (it was my 17^th state).

What was your most favorite/least favorite trip and why?            

My favorite trip was to Italy in 2021 shortly after pandemic travel restrictions were lifted.  It was great to be traveling around with family, and the locals were very appreciative to have tourists back.  The weather was perfect and it was much less crowded than pre-pandemic traveling.
